The explosion of three illnesses has left parents demanding more medicines than stores anticipated. This has led to a shortage.
Experts say that the rise in children's flu, RSV and COVID-19 infections is responsible for these surges.
The Consumer Health Care Product Association reports that sales of children's pain-relief and fever-reducing products are up 65% this year, compared to last November.
According to Joanna Dolgoff, a pediatrician and spokeswoman for the American Academy of Pediatricians, companies are struggling to meet demand as more consumers seek flu remedies. “Everybody is sick — everybody needs medicine at once,” she told the Washington Post this month.
Limited supplies of children's pain medication have prompted retailers such as CVS, Walgreens, Kroger and Target to limit the amount of drugs customers can purchase at once.

What's the Difference Between The Children's Tylenol and the Children's Cold + Flu Tylenol?
They both have the same acetaminophen amount in them, (alaways check the back nutrion lable to verify and speak to the doctor pharmacist.)
The only difference is the cough/ flu has a cough/ nasal suppressant and antihistamine. So it has a few extra things but the same pain relief amount.
Tylenol and Motrin shelves looked as if they'd been hit by a tornado, parents told us.
Member Rebecca Cheal stated “Me and my family literally searched 7 stores in our area for children's Motrin without finding any”. Admin Nicole Torres said “Both kids are sick again, just got back from ER not to long ago and sent my husband out for Tylenol and Motrin. He drove to every store in town and nothing. Luckily we had some for the night and my parents found some at the store by there house (different town) and got it for us. Insane”.
