Shacke Pak vs eBags! Quality construction, Great design, EXCELLENT ZIPPER…made me a BELIEVER in PACKING CUBES. Pros:- Quality build- Excellent zipper quality and durability- Strong seams- Lightweight- Open netting design allows for visibility of contents and easy compression- Attractive but simple colors and design- Comfortable zipper pulls- Comes with sack to carry all the packing cubes and can alternatively be used as a travel laundry bag- 4 packing cubes for the price of many competitors offering 3- Excellent customer serviceCons:- Nothing major at the moment, but I am starting to notice after a few months of use that some of the seams appear to be stretching a little too far and am concerned that it may tear after a while- The plastic spring cord lock used on the sack that carries all the packing cubes (I used the sack as a “dirty laundry bag”) broke after a monthPersonal Experience:Ask me a year ago whether I would ever have packing cubes and I would have scoffed at you and declared that it was illogical to try to save packing space by using packing cubes that forced the cube shape. Now…I’m a believer!!Packing cubes have changed the way I packed forever. Not only does it organize everything I pack (underwear, socks, pajamas go in one; shirts and pants go in another, etc), it allows me to pack 2-3 times more than I used to be able to because you are able to squeeze everything into a packing cube and then zip it up. Packing cubes don’t add any appreciable weight to your luggage because they are so lightweight anyway. And for longer trips, I simply take out my packing cubes from my duffel bag/suitcase and they serve as drawers for all my travel items. In terms of Shacke Pak specifically, I referenced in my “Pros” why I think Shacke Pak is generally superior to other brands. In particular, I received one packing cube that had an issue with the zipper that resulted in the zipper handle breaking pre-maturely. I contacted Shacke Pak and customer service immediately sent me a replacement packing cube without any hassle. I am very pleased with the customer service and it has given me some measure of confidence that they will continue to take care of their customers in the future.**Update: I also own two sets of eBags packing cubes (you can read my other reviews) and have had the opportunity to compare them directly to Shacke Pak. In all honesty, both brands make exceptional packing cubes and you really wouldn’t be disappointed either way. But to be nit picky, I will share a few of my observations:- Shacke Pak uses a material with a matte finish compared to the more shiny honeycomb design of eBags. The Shacke Pak material stretches ever so slightly, whereas the eBags material has very little give. As a result, it appears that the material eBags uses is slightly more durable, but Shacke Pak looks slightly more premium.- Shacke Pak uses hidden stitching beneath the zippers, whereas eBags uses a double stitched design in most places. After owning the Shacke Pak packing cubes for about a year, I am noticing that the hidden stitching under the zipper pulls a little more and actually becomes visible when I pack the cubes tightly. This concerns me slightly and makes me question the long term durability whereas eBags’ double stitched design seems to hold strong regardless of how tightly I pack the cubes.- The depth of Shacke Pak packing cubes is .75″ to 1″ more, so you can pack more.- The zipper pull handle (not the zipper itself) on one of my packing cubes from Shacke Pak fell off after one month. I contacted Shacke Pak and they immediately sent me an entire new packing cube. Shacke Pak demonstrated excellent customer service, but at the same time I am a little concerned that something like that happened so quickly in the first place. Since then, I have had no issues with my two sets of packing cubes from Shacke Pak. I have had no issues with eBags in terms of the zippers or zipper handles in the 6 months that I have owned them.- Shacke Pak packing cubes gives you 4 for the price of approximately 3 from eBags. Also, Shacke Pak includes a pouch with the packing cubes that can be conveniently used as a dirty laundry bag when you’re travelling. You seem to get a little more for your money with Shacke Pak.- Zipper quality for both is excellent, as they both use YKK zippers.- Overall: You can’t go wrong with either and each brand has slight advantages over the other in a few areas. I personally think eBags is slightly more durable, but that Shacke Pak is slightly more attractive and gives you a little more for your money. Conclusion:If you are looking for a high quality and durable set of packing cubes for travelling, you really can’t go wrong with the Shacke Pak set. The price is reasonable and you get 4 packing cubes for the price of what most competitors charge for 3. I have not had any real issues with quality or durability (I travel and use these a lot, but I will update my review in the future), and Shacke Pak has already demonstrated to me that they have excellent customer service. I also think the Shacke Pak packing cube set provides one of the most stylish designs compared to the others out there.**I have included a picture of one my packing cubes when it is packed tightly showing what I mean about the hidden stitching being stretched and visible. This concerns me a bit.
Will change the way you travel. I am not a very organized person. However, I constantly strive to be that way, and absolutely love products that help me stay neat and organized…And also keep me as sane as possible with a toddler!!I found these TravelWise packing cubes a few weeks back when my family was preparing to fly to Palm Springs, CA for vacation. I was skeptical, so I just ordered my own set for that trip. I compared several other packing cubes based on price, amount and variety of sizes included and colors. I chose TravelWise because you get five bags of differing size, and I liked the purple option!I was absolutely shocked when my suitcase was neat and easy to pack!! I rolled everything into each cube and neatly packed it into my suitcase. The best part was how organized I stayed during the trip. Usually my suitcase ends up a disaster and I have to essentially re-pack the night before we head home. This time, I didn’t!! I showed my sister (who was not looking forward to re packing all of her family’s suitcases before leaving) and she thought they were amazing. She ordered three sets for her family (one for each member), and I ordered two more for our family, one for my husband and son. We leave for Maui in a week, and my son’s suitcase is already packed…!These packing cubes will give you peace of mind, and make your life just a little easier. As a mom of a young child, I also don’t want to have to deal with tiny clothes getting mixed up in my son’s suitcase (these packing cubes even make it easier for my 2.5 year old to keep out of the suitcases! He has a tendency to make messes of everything!)The bags are well-made with high quality zippers, which was important to me. The lining of the fabric feels like it has kind of a water repellant, if not plastic-type coating. They each come with a nice handle, so they’re easy to carry. The mesh area makes it nice to see what you’ve packed in each one! I feel like I was able to get so much more in my bag–(I got so much in that my bag was overweight, luckily I just popped one of my cubes out and put it in my husband’s bag. Usually I’m handing him shoes and arm loads of dresses or whatever if my bag is overweight! ;)I added some general photos of my son’s suitcase packed. Once we all have our bags packed, I will add more photos. I can’t recommend these more!UPDATE 7/2018 (a year later):I am still in love with these packing cubes!! We have made several more trips using the TravelWise cubes since my initial review. They are honestly such a time/stress saver. I didn’t mention this before, but one thing I love about these cubes is that whether you’re staying in a rental/house/hotel, you can immediately unpack your suitcase by popping your cubes into the drawers provided at your vacation spot! I have never done that in my life, mainly because it just seemed like a hassle, and I worried I’d forget things in the drawers. The last few trips we’ve taken, I’ve put the cubes in the drawers (so organized!) and then we were able to free up our room by putting our suitcases in the closet! In the past, we would all have our suitcases sitting out, half-opened with clothes spilling out. Having to maneuver around luggage in a small room when my toddler needs space to play is a pain. It’s so nice to free up much needed room in our living space! This last trip we took, my husband got a new hardsided luggage set. If you have these or have seen them, you kind of have to pack each side and then sandwich them together. Not a problem when you have these travel cubes! I had my son use one of my smaller suitcases to consolidate on our last trip. It also happens to be a hard sided suitcase. This one doesn’t have the greatest system to hold the contents on either side in place for when you fold the suitcase up to close it. Now that we have the packing cubes, there are no sleeves or pant legs hanging out that need to be tucked in. Just the cubes to arrange!!Lastly, I am impressed at the durability of these cubes. Here we are, a year and several trips later, and all 15 of our family’s cubes are in awesome condition. I have stuffed some of mine so full that I was worried the zipper would pop or the seams would rip (oops!) Not one of them has lost its functionality in any way. These are one of my favorite Amazon buys. I still can’t recommend them more!
This group of travel packs is so well made, outstanding! Just ordered a second one for a traveling family member. You can’t go wrong with this,
Packing cubes were purchased for traveling. They are lightweight. I like that they pack inside each other and have a carrying case. I also love the variety of the packing cube sizes.
Incase you didn’t get the message from the title, I LOVE these packing cubes! I just got back from Hawaii and used them to pack. My husband asked me, “why do you need to pack your clothes inside of something that your going to pack inside of something else?” I DON’T KNOW!!! Why do I??? Well, here’s my crazy reasoning.1. It looks neater. And because of that I think my clothes didn’t wrinkle as much.2. It’s so much more organized. All my bathing suits and coverups went in one cube. All my shorts and tops in another. All my husbands clothes went in a cube. When we got to the condo we just pulled out the cubes and either hung the clothes up or put them in the dresser.3. I could fit more in, or at least I think I did!4. If you have to live out of a suitcase on vacation packing cubes will make it so much easier to find things rather than having one big pile of clothes.5. These were very nice quality. I filled them pretty full and had full confidence that the zippers would hold.6. I liked that there’s a strip of see through material so you can see what’s inside.7. The laundry bag and shoe bag is nice to have too.8. These would be great to use to store clothes in under my bed too!I’ve included pics off my cubes all packed up for Hawaii. Some people said there’s had a smell so when I got mine I just unzipped them and let them air out for a couple of days before I used them.I can’t believe how excited I was to use them and how excited I was to open and unpack once I got to my destination. My husband still doesn’t get all the hype but I think their great!
I LOVE my packing cube set! These are awesome for traveling and maintaining organization on the go. I traveled to Europe for 2 weeks and used every piece of this 8 piece cube set split between a carry-on suitcase and a checked suitcase. They are light weight (I packed all the fashionable items I wanted for Paris and STILL came in substantially under the 50 lb weight limit). But for me, truly, I loved how much I was able to fit but keep my luggage from exploding clothes everywhere. I also love that they have handles and mesh tops to see through. We never spent more than a few days in each location, but I appreciate unpacking my suitcase wherever I go. Since my cubes were organized mostly by item types, it was easy to unpack by simply removing my cube and popping the whole cube into a shelf or a drawer. Also, I fit 3 pairs of shoes in the shoe bag. 2 pairs of flatter-ish shoes (Rothys sneakers and platform sandals) in the main compartment and a pair of flip flops in the mesh lid pocket. You guys, this was the best purchases I made in prep for my trip!
These are ideal when packing for a long trip. The mesh on top enables one to see what is inside each of the bags. There are various sizes to pack and separate different clothes. The only reason that they get 4 stars is that I have tried to find a means to reach out to the company to see if they are machine washable but have been unsuccessful. No phone number, no email; concerning.
These are just what I needed. I’m planning a two month trip and want my stuff to stay organized without adding a bunch of weight. Good variety of sizes and colors. nice and light weight…since I haven’t put them through the test, I don’t really know how durable they are, but the seem well made.
These were purchased for a 2 week international trip as an addition to some other packing squares I already owned. When they arrived and were unpacked, they were not that impressive. While the quality seemed great, they looked small and not all that usable. I considered returning them, but I’m glad that I didn’t.I wear size XL or XXL clothes and typically they take up a lot of room in a suitcase. I didn’t think they would be able to hold everything I wanted so I pulled my other squares as well. I was totally wrong about how much they can hold! I was able to fit about 8 shorts, 10 t-shirts, underwear for 10 days, a pair of jeans, swim trunks, a hat, and a pair of shoes in these squares, nothing else needed, and I didn’t even use the drawstring bag – that was used for laundry during the trip. The clothes were all rolled, so they weren’t very wrinkly on arrival, but the biggest improvement over previous trips was the amount of space left in my suitcase after putting all the squares in there. They were also used for short overnight trips as well, which makes them doubly useful. You can fit enough clothes for 2-3 days in the large square and throw it in a car, or backpack, for easy transport. You could even just carry it easily due to the handle on the top.I bought four sets for my family, and they were all just as good, no issues with quality. I’d thoroughly recommend them if you have a need for any sort of packing. They work really well for long trips, short trips and anything in between.

Whether you’re a roller or a folder, these organizers keep all your clothes in place where you packed them! I didn’t think I would be as impressed with these but I decided to order them a day before my flight for same day delivery and received them a few hours after ordering – what an age we live in!While they are not necessary, the convenience these organizers provide make them worth purchasing. I always organize my clothes when I pack my suitcase but over the course of a trip, all my different articles end up mixed up and jumbled together from pulling stuff out and stuffing things back into the suitcase.Having separate cubes for different types of clothing maintains order in the suitcase and saves me time when putting an outfit together, ultimately giving me more time and energy to enjoy my vacation or trip. It also makes it super easy to take everything out of the suitcase and put it into the wardrobe/drawers – something I’ve never done before but felt confident doing since there was a protective layer around my clothes. The shoe bag and laundry bay are awesome, too.Veken also included a little pamphlet on suggested ways to fold or roll your clothing in case you’re a complete noob. To those complaining about the durability, you should be realistic about what you’re receiving for a 6 piece set at this price point. Don’t manhandle them and you’ll be fine. Get these! At a fraction of the cost of other brands, they are a great way to try packing cubes. As an aside: I read reviews pretty thoroughly and I noticed people commenting on those “hairs” they found in their bag. If you look closely, you can see that those fibers are bent in the middle, looks like bristles from a brush or cleaning device so that answer from the company actually makes sense.

Very lightweight and keeps my clothes organized. I don’t have to worry about my clothes spilling out into the floor.
I bought this set of packing cubes because I booked a cheap flight where I couldn’t bring a standard carry-on (I’ll never do that again!) and needed to get everything for a 5-day trip in a duffle bag. I had heard great things about packing cubes but had never used them before, so I didn’t want to spend much money on my first set. I have used these cubes on four trips this year, and they have exceeded my expectations. Whether packing for a quick work trip or extended vacation, I love that I can mix and match the sizes to accommodate the size of the suitcase I’m packing and get twice as much stuff in my bag as I would without using the cubes. The print is cute, and after several packings and unpackings, the cubes are still in great shape–no fraying or tears, and the zippers work great.
I was preparing for a 10 day road trip and knew we couldn’t all pack suitcases and hope to fit in the car. So I decided to use a duffle so it could be smushed. But 10 days in a duffle could get messy fast. I found these packing squares and I was pleasantly surprised at how much they held. If you’ve ever read one of my reviews, you’ll know that I’m not a petite person. Large person means large clothes. But these bags held everything. And it comes with a bag to store a pair of shoes and keep from getting your other stuff dirty. It also comes with a small laundry bag.All in all, this was a good purchase. They worked well for keeping me organized during a long trip. They look nice. And they held a good amount. I’ll definitely get some use out of these in my future travels.

Useful. I used these on a recent trip, and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to not using cubes! It seriously helps keep everything organized and accessible. I like that they give you so many different sizes and different pouches. The material is definitely thin, and I wouldn’t say it’s high quality. But it does the trick and I’ve had no issues after a week long trip.
I hate packing because I always struggle with overpacking. I did overpack on my most recent trip, but you couldn’t really tell because everything was shoved into these packing cubes. I organized by bottoms, tops, underwear/socks, and shoes. I was able to fit about 8 pairs of shorts, one sweatpants, two pair of jeans, a pair of leggings, a pair of bike shorts, and a pair of sweatshirts in the large cube. The medium cube I fit about I would say 15 shirts(variation of tank tops, crop tops, and oversized shirts). This was only a one week vacation and everything remained organized throughout my trip. Dirty clothes I kept in a hamper and then once washed they were shoved back into the respective cube. I didn’t take the laundry bag cause it’s pretty small. I used a large cube, a medium cube, the underwear cube, and the shoe cube and they all fit into a carry on luggage.
They work out good for me on my vacation I only use them one time so far but I will be using them again in Oct and Dec so I hope they hold up it was easy to put my things in and find what it needed by looking at the tags that I put in the little pocket they have on there and I had more room in my suite case for other things and they are helpful to organize and keep things organized I got a set for my husband and myself they work out for us so for I was able to put a good bit in the case and the zipper held up
I loved these packing cubes. I used them for an international trip recently and my suitcase zipper busted while in baggage claim. Lucky for me, all of my clothes had been organized between the cubes and packed safely into my suitcase, so I had no embarrassment of all of my clothes and items falling all over the place. I can fit plenty of clothes in there, and I chose to roll my clothes up. It also has smaller bags that are great for medicine or makeup. I will not travel without these cubes from now on.
I always thought these were a joke, but saw a presentation online about how to pack. Ordered these and left on a weekend trip 2 days after receiving. I used a large duffle bag and couldn’t believe how nice it was to have my clothing organized, to be able to get things out of bag and not worry about the surface I was putting them on, and to keep several pairs of shoes in a separate bag. Just wish the bag for soiled clothes was bigger. My friend was so impressed, she was going to order her own set when she got home.
Believe me at first I was skeptical, because is was like what could be the differece…. Oh God you need to Join this new form of travel xD.You can really pack more clothes, and it won’t be a mess looking for your clothes, because everything is super easy to access and dont have the stress to pack everything again before the flight/travel because it would be organizeAnd let me tell you that curiously you can even pack more things, since everything is so well folded and organized you have more space. I even stopped traveling with large suitcases, because with a carry-on suitcase and a backpack, everything fits perfectly. And believe me as a woman I pack ALL my makeup, dresses, winter clothes , shoes etc etc etc/So save yourself those 35-45 dollars, with this
I have three sets of packing cubes, each from different sellers/ makers when we first started our van life journey. These are BY FAR my favorites. The fabric quality is very high – they are thick and durable, the stitching is solid, and the frosted plastic front is flexible, not brittle, so it doesn’t get scratched or torn. But by FAR the star of the show is the zipper. The zippers on both our other sets have had some trouble ranging from annoying to destroyed, but not these guys. They slide along smooth as you please, and it’s been almost two years. I even recently flew via Frontier and of course I wasn’t paying for luggage – so I took the largest one of these packing cubes, packed it with items and a smaller one of the cubes, and slid it into my tote bag as my personal item. Worked like a charm and packed two weeks of clothes and other items with no issue. If you’re looking for an excellent set of packing cubes, these guys are perfect.
These are a clever idea for those who travel with family or in groups with shared luggage. You designate a couple of them to each member and they help keep everything organized. No more mixing of clothing. So far these have been used only a couple of times in the last 6 months, so time will tell how they hold up.Pros- Very lightweight, so they don’t add anything significant to the luggage weight- Translucent, so you can tell what’s inside without having to open them- Different sizes for different type of clothing or travel essentialsCons- The only thing I can think of is the zipper does feel kind of light, so be gentle with it. It hasn’t broken for me, but it’s been only used on a couple of trips.- Maybe a tad bit too pricey for what they are but it’s a great way to keep things organized when you travel
I’ve been wanting to try packing cubes for a while, but they’re all priced so high and I never went on a big enough vacation to justify spending money on them, so it always felt like I could get by without them. I’m moving abroad soon and for a while I’ll have to live out of my suitcase, so I thought it was time to give these a shot. So far I love them and I wish I’d had them sooner; it’s so convenient to know exactly where everything is and not have to dig through my bag. These were affordable and they look nice and feel like decent quality, so I’d recommend
I bought this to travel to Europe and it was fantastic! I use it now all the time. It keeps everything organized and easy to find! I bought a set for my husband also and he also loves it. Best thing I’ve purchased all year for useability! Will definitely buy more for gifts!
Where have these bags been all my life?! Each bag has pictures of what would fit inside. I used these as guides while packing. Everything fit in nicely. Placing them inside my suitcase was a breeze. When I arrived at my destination I found everything as I had packed it and best of all there were no wrinkles! The shoebag held 2-3 pair of shoes. My young grandson found that it held all his little toys while staying in a hotel. I’m ordering another set for my husband. No more messy suitcases!
I plan on sharing this suitcase with my boyfriend and I tested out one side with his things. It comfortably fit 8 tshirts, 3 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of sweat pants, hiking pants, swim trunks, 7 socks and 7 underwear, a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of Chacos. I was very impressed that both pair of size 12 mens shoes fit in the shoe bag. There’s plenty of room for more too and I didn’t even use one of the medium sized bags. I plan on getting another set for me.
These cubes held clothes for a winter day, for a family of four. Each day separated made packing and unpacking a breeze.
I got these for my toddlers clothes to fit into my suitcase, they made packing way easier and made for way more space!! It was nice being able to keep her clothes organized in these even during our trip! I will always use these!!
perfect. I have had this set for several years I have used all sizes multiple times. I received my first set as a gift and thought I may never use it because I thought I traveled well without the extra bags. Later, when I wondered how I had ever traveled without them, I gifted a set to someone who initially felt the way I had. Now, we both find these bags essential. The sizes are perfect for clothes, make-up, medicines, etc. and make each item easy to locate without rifling through a suitcase. They are very light, they take up very little space when empty, they are durable, they wipe off easily with a damp cloth, the zippers are sturdy, and the mesh top lets one see the contents and yet is sturdy enoughnot to snag.I have not written a review this lengthy about any other product. The price is incredibly low for the quality. If there were a ten star option, I would give the bags ten stars.
4 stars. These help keep me organized they are definitely worth it. I give them 4 stars because the straps on the inside seem a little flimsy and I’m not quite sure what to do with the smaller ones since none of them are waterproof. I’m not sure how long they will last. Also the zippers are just normal pull zippers, not the circular ones shown in the pictures.
